Safety, Quality, Health and Environmental Protection PolicyMission Statement:

Safety and Quality is an integral part of "K" Line LNG Shipping (UK) Ltd (KL LNG) business idea and operating philosophy. The company has implemented Quality and Safety Management System (SMS) which meets requirements of the International Safety Management Code (ISM code) and the International Standard Quality Management System (ISO 9001). KL LNG is committed to quality and safety and ensures that adequate financial and human resources and support are made available for all safety activities, including maintenance of the SMS. The SMS is used to eliminate or control identified hazards through preventive measures, including systems to prevent incidents developing into critical levels. The company will strive to ensure Safety and Health of Human Life, Safety of Ships, Safety of Cargo and protection of Marine Environment by optimising its operations. In addition, as a service provider the company will endeavour to offer our customers a high quality, cost effective Ship Management Service in LNG industry. The Company also actively seeks input from employees, ashore or at sea, and customers, that will improve the SMS. The Company Objectives have been established to support the company’s ultimate goal:Zero accidents and incidents, no spills to the sea and minimal off-hire time.
Environmental Policy:
All Company personnel are encouraged to reduce or eliminate pollution whenever possible. It is the duty of the individual as well as of the Company to preserve the environment, and all employees are expected to adopt a mature, positive attitude in this respect. The Company will strive for continual improvement of its Environmental Management record and will ensure a dynamic system by acting on the findings of the management review meetings, as well as taking account of recommended and legislative changes within the industry, relevant technological innovations, etc. Changes will be applied in accordance with documented procedures. AT SEA The Company considers it has a duty to exercise due care and to take adequate measures to protect the environment. The Master has overall responsibility for implementing Company policy for the protection of the environment. The Master has overriding authority and responsibility to make decisions with respect to pollution prevention. He is to request Company assistance whenever necessary. The Master has the responsibility to review on board environmental protection procedures. SHORE The Company Management and Safety Committees review the existing and pending legislation in respect of Environmental Protection. It also reviews reports and recommendations received from the ships, or elsewhere in the industry, in respect of Environmental Protection. The Annual Management Review will consider applicable legislation and the Company’s achievements towards meeting requirements. Under the terms of employment all personnel within the Company must comply with this policy. Wilful non-compliance with pollution prevention requirements will render the employee liable to dismissal. This policy will remain in force until revoked or amended by written advice by the Management.
